How To Send an eCard PDF Print E-mail

The second 'Thing To Try' is to send an eCard.  An eCard is just a picture that is send to someone's email as an attachment.  Usually my advice when visiting a website would be run a mile from anything that asks you to enter your email address, and even moreso if you need to enter someone elses address.  There are lots of people out there running websites for no other reason than to collect emails, so they can send spam.

Daltonr.com has no interest in collecting emails and definitely no interest in sending spam.

Pretty much every photograph in the daltonr.com gallery can be send as an eCard. And it couldn't be much easier to send one.  At the moment you do not need a daltonr.com account to send an eCard, that might change in the future.

Click Read More for the instructions.

Click the 'Photos' button on the daltonr.com Menu (See figure 1).

The Gallery main page will be displayed (See figure 2).  If you are not logged in to your daltonr.com account there are two Albums to choose from.  Richard Dalton, which contains my photos, and Member Albums which contains other peoples photos.

An album is like folder that can contain photos, or other albums.  You can recognise an album because it is surrounded by a frame.  Underneath the frame is the word 'Album' followed by the name of the Album (See figure 3).

Click on the Richard Dalton album.  This album doesn't contain any photos, it contains a number of other albums: Portraits, Landscapes etc.  Select Landscapes.  When the Landscapes album opens you will see the individual photos (See figure 4).

Photos have a different border to albums, and underneath a photo you should see a link that says 'Send as eCard' (See figure 5).  Click this link on a picture you like.

Figure 5 - Send as eCard

Clicking the Send as eCard link loads a form where you enter the name and email address of the person you are sending the card to, and your own name and email address (so they know who it's from).  You can also type your own message (See figure 6).

To test the eCard system you can type your own email address for both the sender and recipient address.  You'll send an eCard to yourself so you can see what it's like.

After you have entered your details and message click the preview button.  This will show you what the recipient will see (See figure 7).  Alternatively you can skip the preview and just click 'Send' (See figure 8).

If you clicked 'Preview' then you still need to click 'Send' to actually send the eCard (See figure 8)
